Cup Predictions
East Conference Semi-Finals
381) Halifax (Shawn) CTR #31 (Northeast)
vs.
330) Washington (Andrew) CTR #12 (Southeast)
If the Yearbook calls this correct, Andrew would still have
3 players, Backstrom, Thornton and Boyle left while Halifax has made it through
with Pavelski and Laich and just not enough to go any further putting Andrew in
the Cup finals in Washington.
Prediction: Washington (Andrew) CTR
#12 in Cup Finals
342) Hartford (Andrew) CTR #17
(Atlantic)
vs.
335)
Dallas (Jr) CTR #2 (Gulf)
The Yearbook sees Dallas (Jr) making it through to the
Semis with his Detroit Red Wings – Four Detroit Red Wings to be exact.
Jr would have Franzen, Lidstrom, Kronwall and Cleary and although Andrew
has two Bruins at this point, that just would never be enough.
Ryder and Chara might be around come the finals, but this is the end of
the line for Hartford. Prediction:
Dallas (Jr) CTR #2 in Cup Finals
West Conference Semi-Finals
378) San Diego (Glen) CTR #10 (Pacific)
vs.
321) Green Bay (Ryan) CTR #16 (Central)
In a Semi-Final that would be a fun battle to watch, Glen
in San Diego would be bringing Ovechkin and Setoguchi to face Ryan’s Thornton
and Cheechoo. This would likely than
come down to player games, but the Yearbook is giving the slight edge to
Ovechkin in this battle and sending San Diego to the Cup finals out of the West.
San Diego (Glen) CTR #10 in Cup Finals
347) Edmonton (Scott) CTR #28 (Northwest)
vs.
343) Las Vegas (Joel) CTR #1 (Southwest)
GM Scott could never compete in this series with only
Datsyuk facing a squad of Semin, Franzen and Clowe.
The team that was ranked at the top all year long would now be in the Cup
finals to prove they did belong. Las
Vegas (Joel) CTR #1 in Cup Finals
NHLP Cup Finals of Boston vs. San Jose in the NHL
Finals
378) San Diego (Glen) CTR #10 (Pacific) With Setoguchi
343) Las Vegas (Joel) CTR #1 (Southwest) With Clowe
335)
Dallas (Jr) CTR #2 (Gulf) With No One
330) Washington (Andrew) CTR #12 (Southeast) With Thornton and
Boyle
There’d be little doubt about the final above.
Washington (Andrew) would be winning their second cup, Andrew’s 5th
and the all-time Cup leader would again show why he is number one.
He has a top team here with some good players built around solid top
seeds. He is only a two point
favorite in the first round against young rookie Matt and just like that,
everything changes everywhere. The
Yearbook is very accurate, but has never called 16 first round match-ups.
Will your team be the team that changes everything?
Just one change, anywhere, changes all the match-ups afterward and might
mean it is your team, not Washington that wins the 2009 NHLP Championship!
