North Division

Florida Vs. Chicago

Focus on Avs and Oilers Sunday

With big leads GM's Marcel and Andrew are on the anticipated CTR second round matchup which as is heavily favors the Florida Panthers team of GM Marcel in the Division Finals by about 29-24.  For Marcel he needs his Avs players MacKinnon and Makar to move on as their 19 outweighs the 5 Vilardi could bring next round versus Andrew.  For Andrew he can do no better than his current 5 green players and must have his core Edmonton players Hymen, Nugent-Hopkins and Ekholm about 16 compared to Kopitar and Doughty's potential 10.  In a series Andrew will not be favorites is current series all stay as it is, he can't fall to an 11 point underdog and expect to win the division.  So Sunday Marcel will be cheering on Colorado and Los Angeles while Andrew will need those team's opponents.

----

South Division

New Orleans vs. ?

GM Chad's lead of 16-11 doesn't appear safe at all as GM AJ's will tighten this series by the end of game 4's and AJ must have Winnipeg knocking out Colorado or nothing matters.  We know AJ can come back in Cleveland and win against Chad and if that did occur, as is it would lead to a New Orleans (Shawn) Walk-Over next round.  However, if AJ can win and Winnipeg came back and knocked that Avs out the matchup for the division title would be around 20-19 in favor of New Orleans in a 4 player on four player battle.  Now even if Winnipeg did come back to win, AJ still must beat Chad's Toronto team.  Chad would also need Colorado or Vegas out and the Leafs coming back and knocking out the Bruins in game 7.  That is a longer shot than AJ has, but won't be if the Avs win Sunday.
Atlantic Division

Hartford vs. ?

We know the Whalers are going to be in the division finals, but we do not know their opponent, either Barrie Island (Joel) who is currently leading 19-17 versus Montreal (Marcel).  If the 1/2 Chance Stumblers win they must have the Jets knock out the Avs.  That occurring and everything else the same puts Joel's Barrie Island team about a 5 point underdog next round.  Not impossible.  If green stays green, nothing her matters and Whalers cruise.  Montreal is clearly not looking like a CTR #2 team, but there is hope.  The Habs must have Winnipeg or Dallas and Los Angeles coming back and winning in the 2-1 NHL series.  It seems like a lot but Winnipeg and Dallas would have home ice advantage should they tie their series at 2 games apiece.  Andrew is the huge sized favorites here, but Sunday can alter that outlook.

  East Division

Pittsburgh vs. NY Rangers

These GM's have just got it done.  Next round is a 27-26 Rangers (Charlie) favored battle.  For Chad he needs green and Dallas to come back to help his next round.  Yes both teams have two Dallas players including Heiskanen, but if Dallas moves on Chad's entire team does and his 7 would outscore Charlie's 6 next round about 34-30.  Charlie may be best suited for winning an NHLP Championship is Dallas comes back with Heiskanen and Marchment versus Karlsson.  Marchment is hurt, but is questable Monday, meaning he should be ok by round two.  Of course Charlie is cheering hard for LA to knock out the Oilers.  That would mean Charlie would be about 10 point favorites and all would be easier winning the division and back on track for going all the way.
Pacific Division

?

Ya, who knows how this is going to end up going.  One big question mark.  So lets start with the CTR's choice Indianapolis (Matt).  We do see the Marchment injury in Dallas.  Not worrisome long term maybe, but the Icemen are up 18-15 over GM Jr's very red Calgary Flames. Dallas coming back would mean GM Matt could move on all 7 players (Just as GM Marcel's Attack and both with about 32 points next round).  For Matt, he might be toast right now had Florida not got extra man games.  That is still a worry.  The Flames have the same worries and would be equally as toast had the Islanders not won in OT.  If the Panthers or Islanders get a game 6, it could be enough to swap the first round series.  It appears Jr is only playing a spoiler roll here unless numerous game 7's appear everywhere.  Alaska is tied at 18-18 with a slim game 4 player game edge to take the lead.  Marcel with or without Dallas moving on, winning this series and all else staying the same is a favorite next round, maybe a point versus Indy.  For Phoenix, all is not lost here at all.  If Charlie can beat Marcel, and Charlie is tied with the tie-breaker in hand with the NY Rangers pick, Charlie wouldn't fair well versus Matt, but could hammer Calgary should that upset occur.  Then Charlie has McDavid and could just go as far as the Oilers run.  So Charlie is cheering to win his series and cheering hard for GM Jr in Calgary.
West Division

Portland vs. Los Angeles

GM's Bryce and Andrew are well in control of their NHLP first round series and appear heading to the division matchup next round.  As is GM Bryce would be a 20-16 favorite to win the division.  Bryce is OK with the way things.  For GM Andrew, a four point underdog next round is winnable, but he completely alters the landscape should his Jets come back and win. That would be enough to ensure the Kings are in the Conference Finals.
