1095 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
Finished very
strong to grab the top overall NHLP seed for the entire playoffs.
This is Stamkos team. He will have to score in round one, but this
team matched up all wrong, having to lose at least 3 and maybe 4 players
in round one. Odds are even if they win round one they won't have
enough to get it done all the way. On the bright said they have a
good first round matchup in Edmonton (Scott) and are guaranteed to have
at least 3 second round players, maybe 4 if Phoenix beats Detroit and
not every team is guaranteed that. |

1146 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
Will need Stamkos to carry the team into a playoff spot with only 44
player games left in the season. Is only two points up on 6th.
If Tampa Bay does not run will likely have to matchup with Phoenix or
Detroit going. The scary part now will be just getting into the
NHLP playoffs. |

1108 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
The Lightning
have fallen again to a road seed for the first round of the playoffs.
That is ok, come April, some other city will get to know Stamkos is all.
He is still the backbone and the building block. The crucial first
round scoring that every NHLP team needs to get through round one, even
if that is it. Umberger is looking like a pain in the ass right
now and may have to be packaged, as a 1-1 might be undoable.
Rafalski is almost back, thank goodness. |

10 |
1193 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
Tampa Bay
dropped behind the Bruins, losing a little luster in the CTR for
Stamkos, but he is still as good as any and we wish we had him on our
team for first round scoring (because the CTR does not have a team, this
would in no way be considered tampering). Vanek and Christensen
are the question marks and Umberger is out and unrated. Those will
be things that will have to be addressed but the Sens are OK. One
question mark; Is Rafalski? |

10 |
1208 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
This team would
be nothing in the CTR without Stamkos. OK, maybe without Stamkos
and Rafalski too. Stamkos and the Lightning will not and have not
gone away. Heading into their big blowout of Phoenix, Tampa Bay
was minus 6 goals in the for-against category, on the season, yet with a
record of 34-18-7. Is that even possible? If I didn't see it
with my own eyes there is no way I'd believe it!!! Ottawa is
having trouble scoring, outside of Stamkos and Vanek. Vanek is now
unrated again. His scoring is far to hard to replace, so the Sens
will need him to get into a playoff spot. It could happen, but in
all likelihood, at this point in the season, Mike & Ray will be facing a
penalty for him come the NHLP Deadline. |

1363 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
Vanek is now
finally ranked!!! Can you believe these two GMs? In first in
the North, but no room for mistakes, from first to 5th in this very
tough Division. Seven players on different teams so matchups will
be key later. Prior NHLP Cups have been won by teams without two
players on the same NHL team, so no worries there. |

9 |
1345 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
Where is this
team without Stamkos? Top seed in the Eastern Conference, leagues
leading scorer and 67 points, almost 30% of this teams scoring!
The co-owners are only 10 points up with Stamkos, which is really scary.
If he got hurt a month, then what? (Oh ya, big injuries don't
affect Mav and Goose!) Vanek is hot, 16 points to lead the team
in January. This team needs his scoring to stay in the playoffs.
The problem is, when they move his scoring, this team's first round
scoring takes a huge hit. What they bring in as a replacement will
be key. Hell, there is still hope Buffalo could catch Montreal,
Atlanta, and Carolina in front of them. That is the only hope,
because Vanek's contract, at $6.4 million cap hit a year won't be moved,
seeing as he is signed long term and it doesn't expire until both these
GM's are legal drinking age...IN THE STATES!!! |
45 |
7 |
1370 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
They have
seemed to have settled off. Stamkos has dropped seeds, which will
always affect the CTR for such a massive scoring player. At 3rd in
the East (Tampa's seeding) he is still a heavyweight in the ranking with
61 points in just 46 games. Not bad for the NHLP's 10th overall
pick at this seasons draft, right after Parise (6 points) and right
before Kovalchuk (25 points). Where was he rated on your list? |
40 |
6 |
1432 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
Back to back
CTR spikes has the Boys almost where they started. Stamkos has
moved into a top seeded player, giving GM's Mike and Ray two top seeded
big scorers, Rafalski the other. Added three playoff players at
the Winter Meeting, unloading two non playoff players in Jokinen and
Elias. Only Vanek's moveable 29 points is non rated. This
was a move that had to be done at some point. Stamkos will need to
stay hot as we move to the second half for there are four teams in the
North, all within 12 points of 5th spot. |
35 |
10 |
1191 (H3 - 1600,
L16 - 842) |
A big jump back
up the CTR rankings, some 350 points. Stamkos has moved back up
seeds with the Lightning good play of late. Rafalski has led the
way with 11 December points and position is great at 22 up on 5th.
NEW YEAR'S WISH: More playoff players! Jokinen getting
traded would help. Elias and Vanek are likely NHLP trade material
in themselves, if not dropped to the minors. That is three non
playoff players worth 74 points. A Tampa Bay playoff run with any
support, maybe Detroit in the West could give this team the league's
bragging rights. In the mean time, major work must be done and the
longer they wait the less options they'll have. |
30 |
16 |
842 (H3 - 1600) |
Another CTR
season low. Stamkos has fallen likely as low as he can in the NHL
Seeding, as the East Conference appears almost set in top 8 and bottom
7, depending on seeds. Three high scoring non playoff players
totaling 65 points and only 13 up on 5th spell disaster. This team
will need a major shake up at some point, a huge Waiver or Minors deal
or a number of trades. The longer this team remains as is, the
harder improvement will be. Expect a splash before or during the
Winter Meeting. (“Destiny’s a pretty big concept, when you think about
it. Where you are in life, how you got there, what would have happened
if one thing or another had been different” - Mr. Destiny) |
25 |
13 |
998 (H3 - 1600) |
A 600 point
drop has made this team look average at best. The bright spot is
Stamkos, who continues to be great. There is also the 12 point
lead over 5th, but after that, things are starting to fade. A
total of 58 points from three players, who are not playoff players, is
very bleak with the top scoring playoff player in the minors around 17
points! If the standings don't change here, this team may be in
big trouble. |
20 |
3 |
1600 (L7 - 1053) |
A great waiver
pick has jumped the Sens to a season high CTR. Colaiacovo and
Jokinen are both rated. They tried to trade asset Kostitsyn and no
one bit, all the better for this team as Montreal is smoking hot.
Stamkos is on fire but Tampa remains only a 5th seed. Rafalski is
the most valuable asset here as Detroit is 1st overall in the NHL and
Rafalski has been much better than a point a game, even though only 8
games in for himself. Vanek and Elias, as well as 24 points to
give, means this team not only can improve, but actually could take over
top spot in the CTR, if things fall into place from here on out. |
15 |
7 |
1053 (H2 -
1534) |
A huge CTR drop
of almost 500 points. Stamkos is no longer a top seed as Tampa Bay
has fallen from 1st in the Eastern Conference to about 5th.
Rafalski back will help the position and the teams scoring isn't a
problem, but no rankings from Elias, Gagner or Vanek have finally caught
up with the CTR. |
10 |
2 |
1534 (L7 - 1130) |
Having the
NHLP's most valuable player is always nice. That clearly is
Stamkos. Stamkos has 19 points in 10 games and his Lightning are
first in the East. Kostitsyn and Rafalski are the only others
rated, but they are highly rated. This team has room to improve
big time. That is important, as the North is tough, but so is this
Sens team. |
5 |
7 |
1130 |
Seen Stamkos?
Not many goalies are seeing his shot right now. He is just
amazing. With Tampa a high seed, the second-year GM's are loving
his nightly hi-light reel. They are the first GM's to have both
teams mention at #6 and #7 overall. Vanek and Elias are not rated,
so there is much room to improve when their teams get going as they
will. Love Stamkos, love the guy! |
