1 2156 (L10 - 1004) Shawn

(East)
Backes was moved for Cammalleri and GM Shawn has 6 of his 7 players on top two seeded teams.  In first by 31 points and all playoff players.  A new season high with the CTR.  GM Shawn has an opportunity to win it all.  What more could he ask for with 80% of the season over and his teams all top dogs.  You can never rest, never be good enough and with 31 points to work with, GM Shawn can still do anything he wants.  Just awesome!!!
2 2038 (H1 - 2057, L19 - 651) Charlie

(South)
We just don't ever recall GM Charlie having a better shot at winning an NHLP Championship.  Seriously, how good is this team's chances?  Miami has 6 players, in one and two seeds, as well as 31 points to work with.  The big question is the first round scoring.  Is it enough?  Charlie can do anything he wants, but is he going to be content with this great team or aggressive to try and strengthen this team and bring it over the top?  Always easier to just say it over go out and doing it, but that is what a GM must try and do at least.  Great moments are born from great opportunity.  That is what Charlie has earned here this season.
3 1676 (H2 - 1962, L13 - 771) Michael & Ray

(West)
No panic with Dallas players Benn and Morrow and that may still pay off in spades.  They are still fringe and a few loses might change what gets done with them come the NHLP Deadline, but the nice thing is with Calgary (Jr) being killed by injuries, expect a lot of points here to be able to be moved.  Still some top seeded players and potential here.
4 1522 (H2 - 1874, L15 - 784) Shawn

(South)
We said Richards will not remain a Star.  We didn't specify at the Trading Deadline or July 1st when he leaves as a UFA!!!  OK, shit, we guessed and got it badly wrong.  Shit happens.  Wasn't like we had inside information like GM Andrew always gets through Twitter.  The way Dallas is playing lately, that might be a blessing in disguise for GM Shawn as the Stars, again against the CTR predictions, just cannot lose.  The Wolverines have 4 top seeds and currently 3 fringe players.  Daley is a nice low number if changes are needed but Richards is hard to move with such a high number and GM Shawn only has 12 points to work with.  This team is solid, but we feel not finished just yet, so we'll find out if GM Shawn is planning to keep both Richards', or is Brad gone, before the NHLP Trading Deadline?
5 1445 (H1 - 2037, L24 - 315) Chad

(East)
Still no Crosby and still 8 points up on 5th.  You know the Penguins are just holding off until it matters.  You do know that right?  Crosby being shut down won't happen, but GM Chad needs his scoring to help make it.  Still all about the Pens with Crosby, Letang and Staal and we doubt that changes.  Solid team but not what it would be if Pittsburgh was a higher than 4th seed or Crosby had another 30 points since Jan 1st.
6 1422 (H1 - 1648, L12 - 834) Matt

(South)
Another Dallas Stars' believer who has big guns who are considered only fringe at the moment but could easily still grab a higher seed.  Things can go either way for the Stars.  Tampa Bay has dropped seeds but the CTR has climbed here with that resurgence of the Stars.  Still a nice mix of Bruins.  A solid NHLP team but we still expect changes here.
7 1404 (L12 - 876) Scott

(East)
Not Halifax type numbers, but not to shabby.  Hitting stride with a season high CTR.  Kane is now smoking hot and GM Scott is never finished.  Has Oshie and maybe Yandle or Iginla to move yet, but it is always nice to be moving up late in the season and not the other way.
8 1365 (H2 - 1655, L14 - 900) Andrew

(North)
A very sweet gain in the CTR.  This team will likely go higher when Hemsky is replaced with anything useful.  Never got his wish with the big NHL Deadline Deal, so now has to do it manually.  We love how GM Andrew builds these solid teams and we come to expect it to happen again.  A Flyers run may already have his name on the Cup and a rematch of last years finals will only make it easier.  Jokinen is a question mark for us, but not for GM Andrew who stated, "The Sabres, Leafs and Canes will all pass the Rangers.  Not worried about that at all, as much as I am about maybe the Devils."
9 1298 (H11 - 1378, L20 - 470) Matt

(North)
A number of fringe players for a first place team.  Perry, Bourque, Moss, and Goligoski, have not been handing out playoff tickets to family members, just yet anyhow.  GM Matt has points, 19 to work with, but things are getting late.  Has assets to build around, but it isn't going to happen all by itself.
10 1193 (H3 - 1600, L16 - 842) Michael & Ray

(North)
Tampa Bay dropped behind the Bruins, losing a little luster in the CTR for Stamkos, but he is still as good as any and we wish we had him on our team for first round scoring (because the CTR does not have a team, this would in no way be considered tampering).  Vanek and Christensen are the question marks and Umberger is out and unrated.  Those will be things that will have to be addressed but the Sens are OK.  One question mark; Is Rafalski?
11   1166 (H7 - 1430, L20 - 464) Joel

(North)
Arnott, Widemen and Brouwer, all solid additions.  The Cloths Line has been unstoppable, as the Sharks just keep winning.  They could again be a top 2 seed.  GM Joel has 7 playoff players.  It has been an up and down season here, but we don't see many more downward dips, as this team just has to get in the playoffs and let the Sharks do it.  If that happens, GM Joel just may be able to get it done.
12 1110 (H2 - 1923, L15 - 703)  Joel

(West)
Still a solid 16 points up on 5th, but if GM Jr comes up in Calgary, Vancouver is only 6 points up on 4th.  Calgary moving up might be too much to ask with all the injuries, so GM Joel likely has plenty of room to move his fringe players Kessel, Stillman and Miettinen, if needed.  Tampa Bay has fallen and Malone has been dropped, hurting the CTR.  For a first place team there is potentially a hell of a lot of work to do.
13 1051 (L21 - 150) Scott

(West)
An 800 point jump in the CTR, suddenly Edmonton has hope with a season high CTR.  A big jump in the Standings by the Blackhawks have given Toews and Bolland value for the first time almost all season.  GM Scott says he remembers not knowing who this kid was, "Toes.  I had no clue" stated GM Scott, "But he is clearly my most favorite NHL player, Semin and Toews."  With good reason, Toews hs been unstoppable of late, getting 21 points in February alone.  Adding to the Oil season high CTR, Penner was dealt to LA while the Sharks have jumped seeds recently with their hot play, giving Boyle a solid number.  Prospal will likely be dealt, but is rated, while Weiss will get dropped at the Deadline.  The Oil have went from 30 out of 4th, to 10 up on 5th, a huge swing, and they continue to be one of the hottest scoring teams in the NHLP of late.  Only 6 points out of 1st in the West, GM Scott is no doubt eyeing not only first place, but being a buyer at the NHLP Trading Deadline, something no one would have dreamed possible just 40 days ago.
14 1026 (H4 -1502, L16 - 892) Charlie

(East)
GM Charlie is not in any panic mode.  "I will be all right" stated Charlie about his Rangers chances.  "I have a ton of assets that everyone wants and two low numbers I can move a high non playoff player, if I add one, in a deal.  I still have Ovechkin, Leino, Recchi.  I have a solid team."  GM Charlie is right about all that.  He has a solid team and now at only 11 out, he can keep most of it.  The teams in front have to know this team is taking a playoff position.  Be fore warned!
15 973 (H10 - 1387, L22 - 333) Chad

(North)
OK, if Daniel Sedin isn't traded, who will be?  Havlat isn't looking like a playoff player and Ruutu and Fisher are both fringe players.  That leaves Knuble, Modano, and Purcell.  I'd would say that sometimes, you just have to cut the cord...but he, just cut the cord!  So now what?
16  924 (H7 - 1294, L19 - 472)   Marcel

(South)
Five of the 7 players are fringe and LA, Carolina, Nashville and Minny could all still be out.  GM Marcel may be facing penalties or big changes and although he has 11 points to work with, teams behind should be making playoff teams, for something has to occur here, or this team may be in big trouble.
17 918 (H3 - 1525, L24 - 67) Tyson

(South)
The injuries clearly caught up with GM Tyson here in St Louis.  Gaborik was moved out for Johnson, but the Kings are by no means a shoe in yet.  Still with three Canucks, and several teams in front in the South Division have major work or at least major question marks, so all is not lost yet.  With Phoenix dropping from hero's to zero's, the CTR however, has taken a hit.  This was a team that has lost 16 points in the standings since the last rating and is now 11 back in 5th.  Not time to panic, way too many assets, but will the team be able to get better or have to give something just to make the playoffs?
18 832 (H5 - 1446, L20 - 525) Ryan

(East)
The CTR liked the two Hawks and Jokinen Waiver pick.  Johnson went but if the Rangers can stay in a playoff position, and why can't they, Gaborik is very solid scorer down the stretch and in the playoffs.  Still struggling to score as a seven man team, but catch still catch the Pens and Fury in the East Division.  We do like the new options GM Ryan now has.
19 797 (H9 - 1209, L20 - 540) Tyson

(East)
A big waiver to come, which will help.  Koivu was a bad injury and likely he will finally be gone.  Minny hasn't looked like they are going to make it, but we just said the same thing about Dallas and now they can't lose.  Stewart will be gone for certain as GM Tyson is falling in the CTR and not gaining at all in the East Division Standings.  Changes are due and are coming soon.
20 721 (H8 - 1357, L20 - 418)  Andrew

(West - Pacific)
This team has no luck.  They trade their 3 Ducks and the Ducks come back.  They trade their Rangers and the Rangers come back.  They trade Callahan one day and the next game he has 5 points.  They pick up Toronto players when the team can't lose and then they get smoked.   "Please Andrew, please don't add Blackhawks in LA" stated GM Scott
21 553 (H12 - 1171, L23 - 425) Jr

(West)
Well the Hall injury was just a typical sign of the entire season in Calgary.  Now Huselius and Green are also out and the Flames are just diving in the West Division, dropping 18 points to Edmonton in the past week alone.  Now 10 points back and no end in site to the madness, as is, this team could be 25 out at the NHLP Trading Deadline if changes are not made beforehand.  Briere could make some GM very happy, but will GM Jr trade him for no other reason than just making someone else better?
22 534 (L24 - -221) Marcel

(North)
Wow.  Let me tell you what, wow!  A season high CTR of 534 doesn't say a lot, but the fact this team is in a playoff spot in the North does.  GM Marcel never packed it in.  I am not sure we would call this team a "Cinderella story", as much as we would an "Ugly step-sister" but the difference is a single slipper.  If Marcel can get in, we have seen, even just last year, the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th seeds win in round one, and that was only in the Eastern Conference.  "You never know" said Muddy Capone, "The 7th and 8th seeds in the East made the conference Finals just last season.  Every year we fall into the same routine of discounting the lower seeded teams but every year one of them are going to be heard from in the playoffs, to some extent.  So if you have a ticket to the Ball, you stand a change to get a dance with Cinderella."
23 -72 (H3 - 1207, L23 - -139) Jr

(South)
This will be hilarious.  Wednesday at 2:30 PM, lets all tweet Lupul and say something to the effect of "Welcome to Halifax, glad to have you as a Destroyer."  Imagine the poor fucker when he finds out he is still really a Star come the end of the NHLP Trading Deadline!  Cruel joke to play, I know, but funny!
24 -204 (H16 - 870) Ryan

Least his Green Bay won the Super Bowl!!!
